Want to role-play as a serious and stoic commander? A brash and argumentative tough guy? Or just troll the game every chance you get? The open dialogue system allows you to speak your mind freely, and the NPCs react accordingly. Powered by the Microsoft Cognitive Services, STARSHIP COMMANDER: Arcade Delivers a next generation adventure game in VR that allows the audience to speak directly to characters without the need to learn cumbersome voice commands.
In 2015, Alexander Mejia and Adam Nydahl teamed up to create a prototype for a story-driven, interactive VR experience. The result, after only a few weeks of development, led to them realizing the potential of pairing natural language processing (“NLP”) with VR. With the addition of Sophie Wright in business development, Human Interact was formed to turn that potential into cinematic VR that foucses on speaking directly to chracters using NLP
Human Interact announced its debut title Starship Commander in February 2017 in conjunction with Microsoft. Starship Commander uses Microsoft’s cognitive Services which has a word error rate of 5.9%. This is lower than a professional Typist.
On November 28th Human Interact announced Starship Commander: Arcade, an LBE version of Starship Commander, available worldwide on December 10th, 2018.
